This machine was part of a new direction for artist Anton Alvarez to explore a more autonomous manufacturing system. Anton wanted to distance himself from the making process and instead monitor his machine in operation and, in communication with the person operating the machine, create objects without physically being involved.

The Extruder is a joint collaboration where I've contributed with mechanic, electronic and software engineering. To date it has produced hundreds of extrusions, countless exhibitions and even an object for the Swedish National Museum.
